Now that I’ve completed successful brain surgery to remove the memory of Thursday, January 8, 2009, I can focus on other things. And today that other thing happens to be Oklahoma basketball. And not only Oklahoma basketball, but a matchup with another top-10 team and a hated rival.
That’s right, RDK, our Sooners host Texas — as well as punk-ass turncoat Damion James — at Lloyd Noble at 8 p.m. CST. While the game will be on ESPN’s Big Monday, RDK urges you to attend this contest if possible. Why? Well, frankly, we play better with a rowdy house. Who doesn’t, right?
And with with the greatest college basketball team ever losing again — North Carolina, in case you care — the Sooners have a chance to slip back into the top 5, but more likely the top 3.
Things to look for:
- Head coach Jeff Capel to get his first win against Texas
Damion James losing his shorts while bricking a dunk on national TV- Austin Johnson to get the best face time since his role as “Spanish” in the movie Old School (old joke, we know)
- To pray SoonerMan and BoomerBoy don’t get any face time
- Standouts Blake Griffin and Willie Warren dropping at least 25 each (pretty please)
- To see if RDK can hit the over/under on how many times Juan Patillo checks his phone for text messages (we’re taking the over at 22)
- To see if RDK can hit the over/under on how many times the new RDK will be mention on ESPN (we’re taking the under, which is currently 0)
- To hopefully see Sam Bradford announce that he’s staying for his junior season
- A hot, 20-something co-ed streak playfully across the court — hey, it could happen
