Although we’re practically saints, we received quite a bit of flack for our perceived involvement in former Sooner receiver Josh Jarboe’s dismissal from the team after a rap video surfaced, well, here at RDK. It now appears we just saved countless puppies, babies and dandelions in the Norman, Okla., area from a fate worse than death.
Why? Well, everyone’s favorite rapper was arrested at his new school — Troy in Alabama — for “misdemeanor harassment.” And from some second-hand message board testimonies — those are always 100 percent reliable — of what might have gone down, it was much worse. This marks Jarboe’s second arrest since committing to Oklahoma in early 2008.
I think everyone owes us an apology. Now, damn it.
The Dothan Eagle — apparently there’s a town called Dothan, Ala. — said the arrest happened Sunday night in the school’s dining hall.
The [police] report did say that Jarboe was sober, did not resist arrest, was not armed and that there were no injuries. The arresting officer is listed as Harold Purifoy. On the report, it says Jarboe was arrested “on view,” meaning the officer was there and the report showed no warrant was issued at the time of arrest.
According to combined reports, Jarboe was dismissed from Oklahoma on Aug. 1 when a 74-second profanity-laced freestyle rap video of him surfaced on the internet. In March of last year, he was arrested when an assistant principal at Cedar Grove (Ga.) High School told police he saw Jarboe get a gun from his car.
As you can see, Jarboe wasn’t going to be helping kittens out of trees or old ladies across the street. He was going to be terroizing the streets with a pack of rapping zombies and werewolves. We saved your lives. You’re welcome.

This just further reinforces my plans to create a baby-sitting service for athletes. Apparently physical prowess and social responsible do not exist in the same proportion in talented athletes. Just think of the coin I could get from the NFL for “research” of this phenomenon.

The Dallas Cowboys tried that with “Don’t Call Me Pacman Jones.” That didn’t work either … especially when they try to fight the babysitter.
