With less than two weeks away until they take the field, your Sooners are ranked No. 3 in the first AP top-25 poll released during the weekend, ranking just behind No. 1 Florida and No. 2 Texas. Tim Tebow is ranked No. 4, by the way.
Other Big 12 teams making the poll include Oklahoma State (No. 9), Nebraska (No. 24) and Kansas (No. 25). Texas Tech (No. 31) and Missouri (No. 48) also received votes. The Sooners’ Sept. 5 opponent, BYU, sits at No. 20.
According to SoonerSports.com, “The 2009 season marks the 51st preseason ranking for the Sooners in the 59 years the AP has released a preseason poll (86%). It also marks the highest preseason ranking for OU since 2004 when the Sooners debuted at No. 2. Oklahoma holds AP records for most weeks ranked No. 1 (97), most weeks ranked in Top 2 (194), most weeks ranked in Top 5 (370) and most weeks ranked in Top 10 (507).”

OK, although I relate to the first statement, and remember the 2nd one, both of them made me throw up in my mouth.
