Who is TMG? Oklahoma freshman point guard Tommy Mason-Griffin, obviously. The McDonald’s All-American, who is projected to start at the point for the Sooners this year, completed the first-ever TMG Around-the-World Challenge during a recent practice. What is it and how’d he do? Jump, fools.
First, thanks to the SoonerSports.com basketball blog for posting the video. They really have some great exclusive content this year. They also provided this commentary yesterday about the impromptu event:
It’s game day and the players are geared up to play outside competition. One Sooner expected to get the starting nod tonight is freshman McDonald’s All-American point guard Tommy Mason-Griffin, a 5-11, 203-pounder from Houston, Texas. Mason-Griffin brings many talents to OU’s squad, and his long-range shot is definitely one of them. Today’s video is of a recent post-practice challenge in which TMG had 90 seconds to make 25 treys — five from each of five spots around the arc. How did he fare?
(If you’re wondering, TMG was 4-of-6 from behind the arc during the Sooners’ 93-53 exhibition win over British Columbia Tuesday night.)

He’s got a nice smooth stroke, that’s for sure! I have a feeling he’ll help OU win a lot of ball games this year & hopefully beyond.
BOOMER!!!

What’s great is that he had that stroke during the exhibition last night too. These young pups can straight shoot it.

They look impressive for sure. Hopefully they’ll overachieve this season to help us recover from the disappointment of football season.
